Awesome styling

Watch Tiffany Marie Scott's styling of her TWA.

You already know that I love this and am so gonna try it. Seems easy with few products but time consuming; will distract myself with a movie while I do this. My hair is currently about the same length, may need to reduce the sides a little to give more mhff to the tapered look.

Hairgasim

I found this picture on Kinky Curls LA and it just gives me hairgasims.

I love the cut, color and the definition in the style. If you have been on this blog before you will know that I love the tapered look and hair color. Even though I had a bad experience with coloring my hair, I have not given up will try it again. I am so loving this haircut and style.

Refreshed mid week wash and go

So its Wednesday and my hair needed a little livening up. It is so important to keep your natural hair moisturized, so I include a mid week TLC to my weekly hair regimen.

I wet my hair the night before with just water and left to air dry. In the morning as I prepared for work I dampened the hair with my leave- in conditioner and olive oil mix in my little spray bottle. Then I used Miss Jessie's curly pudding to enhance my curls, then finished up with mist of Argan oil for shine.

My coils are more defined and shiny.

Side note:
Excuse the lack of make up, the skin on my face is acting up and I am getting fed up with trying to get rid of the spots. I am currently using Aloe Vera; which is helping but slowly. Aloe is quite good at rejuvenating the skin and fighting spots, aging etc. I would recommend it to any one who has time to care for their skin naturally.

Wednesday morning natural hair appreciation

I went on a few of my Fav natural hair blogs this morning. Reading stories of naturalists from all over the world. So I thought I'd put a picture again of my second (accidental) BC, as I appreciate the beauty of natural hair.

Digging my accidental second BC

I am finally beginning to enjoy and fall in love with my short hair again. So much so that I've decided to finally put up a picture. Clears throat......

I really do love short hair but my issue was I didn't plan this second big chop and having to lose one year of growth was so painful.

Any ways I am over it and enjoying the freedom of short hair once again. The many compliments has helped sha, I wont lie.

And since I was at it, I went for the tapered/cropped look that I have always wanted.

What do you think ?

Natural Disaster

So I've been planning to give my one year old hair a make over.

Little did I know!

I found my self in tears at the salon after a coloring process went wrong. The peroxide the stylist put in my hair changed the texture so much that I was unable to comb my hair and my scalp was also irritated. She put in the peroxide because my natural hair wasn't picking the color. I should have listened to the warning signals.

After a few hours of tears, regrets and wondering how I got my self to that point of such a natural disaster; I decided to just cut it all off and start afresh.

I could have managed my hair as it was but the color was quite bad too. Some parts had lighter colors than others. There is still a patch with muddy brown hue.

I regret putting the color in my hair but I have so learned a lesson about my hair.

So with a broken heart, I am back to the same place I was almost exactly a year ago. Cutting my relaxed hair was so easy, I never knew how much  love I had for my natural hair. It has become a part of who I am. It was a focal process I went through in 2012.

On the bright side I get a do over (I have to tell my self something). I now know a lot about natural hair care. I think I will do a lot better this time around.

I would put pictures but I am not feeling this new hair just yet. I cant wait for it to grow out a little more.

Natural in the family

Did you know that my younger sister Queen Elizabeth is also natural?

No ?

Well she is ..... lol. Her name is Elizabeth aka Queen Elizabeth aka Lizzy bug

She went natural a few years before me. She fell in love with dread locs and had to go for it.
Today she is about 2.5 or is it 3 years into her natural/lock journey.

She started off by transitioning for 6 months; then had a mini big chop. It took her a while to lock her hair because like mine, she has fine hair that wouldn't lock.

These days she is rocking long healthy locks that she loves and cherishes.

She recently put in some color which has given her dreads some pop. I like it, totes awesome !

Its our birthday today, my darling sis and I. I am so grateful to God for all He has done for us. And a big thank you to our mom and dad for giving me a really cool birthday mate.

Happy Birthday Lizzy Bug....!!!

HAIRINSPIRATION !!!!

I love love love this look!!!!
I love the tapered cut and hair color; I prefer a lighter color like copper however.
So come January 2013; I will be rocking a similar look with a copper color. I think short hair suits me too so its a win.
You may be wondering, why color you Natchi hair? That's putting chemicals in your hair right? Yep it is, but if I color properly and take care of my hair after coloring with deep treatments every week, f moisturizing with oils and water and regular trims my hair will good.

Bring on the fierceness!!!!!
